About
Welcome to Yamoussoukro !
You'll set off for the famous political and administrative capital, Yamoussoukro, located in the centre of the country some 215km from Abidjan. It is renowned for its wide avenues and wooded areas.
- You will have the opportunity to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, the largest basilica in the world. Designed on the model of the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome and consecrated by Pope JOHN PAUL II, this immense religious building has given Yamoussoukro a reputation for excellence.
- After a well-deserved lunch break, you will visit the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation, a research institute on peace issues run by UNESCO.
You will also visit the sacred caiman lake, located at the entrance to the presidential palace. - Your tour will end with a visit to the Peace Mosque in Yamoussoukro, a veritable marvel of unicoloured sobriety.
